Our Founder is quite honestly a wild man! Decades ago he used to be a professional down-hill skier and at one time he even managed a stable of 16 Samoan Prize Fighters (how’s that for crazy?) He likes to race sports cars, visit exotic places and if he tells you something…take it to the bank.
However, his greatest passion has always been the outdoors. He loves fishing and hunting and for that matter, anything at all that pertains to pitting oneself against the wild. As previously stated, Bobby initially came up with the idea of developing the Twitching Lure while fly-fishing decades ago. He watched a Salmon Fly land on the water and when it fluttered its wings to take off, small ripples were generated on the surface…..then with a massive strike it was gone! It was then that Bobby had his “eureka” moment and the Twitching Lure concept was born. Now he only had to wait until the needed technology could be miniaturized enough to fit inside a fishing lure.
After literally decades of research and development, testing and evaluation and generational refinements, the Twitching Lure became a reality.
We Don’t Call Him Crazy Bob for Nothing!
It wasn’t enough for Bobby to simply invent the most innovative and unique artificial bait of the 21 st century… he had to keep experimenting with new designs and concepts. While our main Twitching Lures are our most versatile and widely used baits, he decided we needed to “…spice things up a bit!” Bobby decided to bring out the same technology in a smaller version lure. This lure is based on the Baby Shad and while it is half the size of our normal Twitching Lures, because it has a higher power to weight/size ratio….it is ten times more powerful than our full size Twitching Lures.
Currently, it comes in four different colors. The Tennessee Raider in Black and Silver, the Red and White Baby Shad, the Natural Baby Shad in sunfish coloration and the Baby Bass in dark green and black. In these more compact versions of our artificial bait, the eyes of these Twitching Lures light up when activated! As with all of our Twitching Lures, this bait comes with two super-sharp Mustad treble hooks attached at the belly and tail.
Freshwater Assassin….
When this smaller bait hits the water, quite honestly it is insane just how much action it creates on its own! This lure will drive fish crazy. As this bait was originally developed for freshwater applications, predator species like Bass or Northern Pike will not be able to resist it. Quite honestly, the lure looks like a bait fish gone bat-s**t crazy….hence the name of this artificial lure is the Crazy Bob!
(Rumor has it Crazy Bob is what our Founders nickname was on the ski circuit as well!)
